I really like this lens for taking shots of multiple people. Here are few of my son with a few of his friends after his grade 8 graduation last night.

But the 40mm Nokton is my "baseline" which everything else spins around. It is the one lens that is constant in my lineup, no matter what.
I wrote this in 2019. And currently I'm shooting with Nikon Zf & Voigtländer Nokton 40mm f/1.2. I guess some things never change.
Tbh. I've swapped between Sony, Fuji and Nikon during this time and there was a short period I didn't have the 40mm Nokton, until I got the Zf with it again. I guess you need to get rid of something to realize how much you miss it.
Just need to get the VM version and then you can adapt it to any mount
I’ve had the CV40 in my base lineup since 2018 and dabbled in a few AF alternatives but never entertained the possibility of selling it (until I swapped my E for VM mount).

Heh. I started with the VM version in 2018 but soon swapped to E mount version. Then came the SE at some point to replace the first. Now I'm really happy with the native Z mount for my Zf. They're pretty much the perfect pair. Just wish Nikon would add focus trap to Zf, then it would be perfect.
Ps. I really need to start editing the pics from our last Greece trip couple weeks back.

Hey look, two people whose work motivated me to try this lens back in 2022. Hasn't left my lineup since!
This mighty lens turns ten next year. Cosina should do a special release to celebrate. Looking at the great image depth, I realised there is no APD (ED) glass used in its construction, and that makes it a rarity indeed. (B&H's blurb has it wrong in this respect).
Finally made it to the end of this incredible thread. Thanks to everyone who has contributed their impressive photos over the years!
I recently bought my first FF mirrorless camera (Sony A7RVI) for professional purposes and, after much research, decided on the 40mm Nokton as my "walking around" lens for personal photography. Got the chance to get acquainted with both during a recent trip to Europe, and I'm absolutely in love with this lens (camera's fantastic, too, but that's not why we're here).
I know this thread's not active like it once was, but it still feels like a rite of passage to add a few images to the historical record.
Left my ND8 in my bag at the hotel on my first day in Nice, so the camera got a workout in the Côte d'Azur sunshine:
