Trying to find a way to show off the dyed silks of New Brunswick designer Dee Wilkie, we decided to do the floating fabric behind local ballet dancer Katie MacDonald (who has subsequently moved to New York to dance).
I initially thought the same about the floor. But in the print (printed with metallic inks on metal), the floor gives grounding and anchors the dancer. Also, to quote Katie's mom: "That looks like a real dance studio floor"... so I've left it.
The studio paper holder in the background is something i could do without. I REALLY enjoy the creapy ghost like onlooker in the left side of the image, fun addition to the photograph, that most would miss.
You're monitor goes brighter than mine (or has much greater dynamic range) - and neither things show in the print. I literally can't see it on full brightness.
