Ben - I really like the composition - it is nicely done. And the light is right. And the focus seems right. It is a good image.
But for me the photo is over processed. Whatever settings you had on HDR went to far for my taste because there is no shadows left in the trees. If this is your intent, as opposed to bit closer to how you would see it, then fine but for me its processed too much.
What I usually do is - process HDR, and then blend with single image exposed (usually 2/3) and in this case I would layer the mountains and up the exposure and layer mask and then paint in the mountain behind to keep it there but have proper shadows.
Maybe just my taste - thanks for sharing. Good job. Scott...Show more →
Thanks Scott, but this is actually a single image, no HDR or blend. The processing is all just shadow highlight and whatever I could pull out of ACR.

OMG Ben, I was about to post the exact same spot that I had taken few weeks back. Great one and clouds make so much of a difference. Very well done.
However I do have to agree with Scott on on some kind of over processing. I think the shadows may have been recovered a bit too much..

Thanks, I may have recovered too far for web, but not for print. I need to watch my web processing a bit more.
