p.1 #1 · A few from the Tetons and surrounding area
Hi all. I don't know that I've ever posted in the Landscape forum, but after adding a Canon 5D3 to my bag, I've been really excited about getting more into landscapes. I recently visited the Grand Teton National Park and spent a couple of days in Yellowstone for the first time. It's an absolutely gorgeous place and makes the mountains I'm used to seeing look like rolling hills. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the trip. Thanks for looking.
A dilapidated hops barn in the Swan Valley area of Idaho. It was raining pretty heavy and we'd take turns jumping out of the car to snap a few shots. I'm surprised that I didn't get any rain drops on the lens or in the picture.
Reflection of Jackson Lake. Unfortunately, it was midday, but we noticed this reflection as we drove by and had to shoot it.
Moose Falls near the south entrance of Yellowstone. We had asked at the entrance about a couple of other waterfalls and this one was mentioned. We never saw the sign for it until we were leaving one night after sunset. We decided to give it a shot.
We decided to chance the rain and had bleak, gloomy skies at sunrise until the sun poked through and lit up the Moulton Barn, complete with a double rainbow.

A few more.
Sunrise at the Snake River Overlook. We finally caught a break with the weather and had a decent sunrise.
Fence line at the Chapel of Transfiguration leading into the Tetons.
This little tree was awesome to shoot near Jenny Lake. It was about a 1/2 mile out into the field and the knee-thigh high sagebrush made it a little cumbersome.
As a storm was rolling in, the Tetons were quickly engulfed. Within about 30 minutes, they were completely covered.

Spork,
Glad you posted these.
You managed to shoot in ok light & dramatic light and delivered great images all.
They are all different & stand on their own.
My only nit could be you posted too many, which comet to think of it, glad you did.

Excellent shots of this special place. Love the rainbows at the barn, a unique shot at this well photographed spot. Ha!, I have a shot somewhere of that same old tree out in the field (taken many years ago), it's a camera magnet for sure. Thanks for sharing... Mike

Beautiful set of images. Can't believe the Patriarch tree is still alive. The inner road passed by this tree before they changed it. It was a simple climb over the bank.

Thanks everyone! It was my fist time in the area and definitely won't be my last. I can't wait to take my son when he's old enough. I'm envisioning a nice father/son trip.
The double rainbow was definitely unique and sets the barn apart from the thousands of shots we see of it.
The patriarch tree was really neat. Once it comes into view, it has a really neat look to it that I wish could be paired with the Tetons in the background.
