Thank you I would take time to fine tune the AF as it is one of my best AF performing lenses. For streets shots I have been using AF-C and 3D and for portraits AF-C and AUTO.
Thanks. I will try those AF settings. I'm shooting with a D800E with AF that's probably not up to the standard of the D850 (or D810).
Also noticed the 28 1.4E seems to AF accurately at 1.4 on my D700 body but not as much on my D800E. Will give different AF settings a try and then AF tune.

With the D850 the 28E appears almost on steroids similar to the 70-200E. This is one reason why the 28E is not going anywhere soon

Charles have you tried the Nikon 35mm 1.4 - I know that it’s not the sharpest tool in the shed but I always thought it had a great rendering.
Yes I have tried the 35/1.4G and it is excellent. I have the 24/35 Art for when I really need a 24 or 35 FL. The 24/35 Art are superb lenses but the outer AF points are not as accurate or consistent. This is where the 28E truly performs
Having a great rendering 35mm lens is almost like a holy grail. There are many and there is always compromises.
Went to Combarro this afternoon just outside of Pontevedra. The Gallician history is fascinating as area was inundated with witches in the past as there were many forests with fog and mist rolling in. The witches were white and positive and not of the evil kind as least this is what I have been told

@charles.k@ you’re making me want to change my walk-around setup from the a9+58/1.2 to the d850+28/1.4
The A9 is a superb camera, just that I prefer the higher MP's and DR for a lot of my portrait shots. Personally I loved the D810 file size at 36MP as this was ideal with amazing DR. I have the D750 but I still err to the D850 in spite of size/weight The said I am still eyeing the 58/1.2 with the Z7. When I had the A7rII and A7s my street portrait lens was the M 50 Nocti f/1.0.
Some shots from Combarro. Combarro is unique that is has many "Horreos" which were originally used for storing corn. They are beautiful structures and unique to Galicia
