p.1 #1 · California, Texas, Spring, and Wildflowers, Oh My!

Spring has treated me well this year! I've chased wildflowers all the way from California to a girl's trip in Texas last month. So much fun! A forewarning - if you do not care for my back lit kids in a field photos, hit the back button now - this post is both LONG, and full of kids in fields. You've been warned.
First up is California. We made our way out to the superbloom in March. It was AMAZING!

Next up, some local wildflowers. Our entire region had a wet winter, which meant tons of flowers!

25 I already shared this one in it's own thread, but I couldn't put my Texas photos without including my favorite.

Last but not least, a few spring photos that don't fall into the wildflower category, but I wanted to share with this post anyways.

damn good.
please tell me some of these are sky replacements and you're not just extremely lucky.
Thank you!! Only a couple are replacements (boring sky that night) - the rest were the real skies taken as a separate exposure and blended in PS. 1, 12, 20, and 29 were the real sunset that evening. We get a lot of amazing sunsets in the Southwest.

OK, now you've done it !
I like many/most of these enough to NOT want to pick a favorite.........till #25. I showed it to my 93 year old mom (that's what I get for having a 27" screen), and she looked at it, and looked at it, and then started crying.
I was going to tell you that it was the one magic photograph of the set -- one that needed its very own fairy tale to go along with it. Now I have to warn you to keep it away from old folks who have sentimental memories of their youth.
So be it. I love your use of color and light and would hire you any day to do family photos.

The trip was worth every mile ...
They're all superb; #4 and #8 are wonderful...
and there must be a story behind #33 --- I count at least five shades of white and off whites plus flesh tones --- that's not for the faint of heart photographer!

So many great shots, Lisa... but I think the best are 8 (that's Sylvie, right? What a doll!) and 13. When they're all so good, the determining factor is the expressions, and those are just superb.

Voted! Never tire of seeing your kids in flowers at sunset! And some of the expressions little Sylvie comes up with (4, 7, 8 and 31) in particular just make me smile!
