p.1 #1 · Bušir black church, Snęfellsness peninsular, Iceland
While I was amazed most of the time I visited Iceland, I was very much attracted with this hauntingly gorgeous church which dates back to 1703. Very unusual for an Icelandic church in that the wood it painted black with pitch. Also unusual, a rock wall of lava stones and turf surround the graveyard.

Hey Kee,
I am not sure why a B&W can't just be enjoyed as a B&W without having to see a color version. To each their own I guess.
But for me, I really like your B&W version. I think it makes for a very strong image. I like to see an artists vision for an image, and if B&W is what spoke to you, I am quite satisfied with that.
Jim
PS. I wonder how often people would go up to Ansel Adams when he presented his B&W photos and wouldn't say anything to Adam except to ask where the color version was?

Thanks. Looking forward to it.
I finally got my computer back from the Apple store today.
Here is what I consider the color version of the image I posted originally in B&W.
Appreciate for your suggestions and patience.

Kee,
Thanks for posting color version. I like it much better. The reason is that if you didn't tell me the church was black in the colorless version, I wouldn't have known. The unique black church is set off against the sky colors, etc. That makes the color version more unique. Can't go into it much more now, at airport getting ready to board. Thanks

krug : Thanks for your feedback. yes, the black & white seems to be very appropriate here, IMHO.
EGrav : Hello.. Thanks for your suggestions and feedback here. I mentioned from the beginning that the church is painted black.. pitch black. However, sometimes this black church goes very well with color background as well. On this morning the mood told me to have monochromatic image! I hope you are having a wonderful travel!
