These shots are beautiful, astounding, interesting, and puzzling!
The puzzling part is how did you get the birds to pose close enough and hold still long enough to get these images? I assume you have a feeder with a blind, but even then these are amazingly close shots.
Regardless, seeing these birds so close and with such color, texture and detail is a real pleasure.
Dave
Thanks, Dave. It is pretty easy to get close to hummers at a feeder.

Wow, any tips and tricks on getting shots like these?
A feeder, patience, and remaining still. The silent electronic shutter of the E-M1 Mk II helps.

Superb detail, Tony. Your stealth and friendliness makes this hummer so calm to stay close to you. Awesome job.

Yeah ... buy the Olympus E-M1.2 + Panasonic-Leica 100-400 lens + extension tubes ... and read up on close-up photography with extensions tubes.

Hi Tony,
You seem to have found a way to get incredibly close. I'm thinking you are using a remote setup though there are other ways and you have demonstrated some great setups in the past.
However you are doing it the results are super
Morris
Thanks, Morris. No blind or remote setup used.

Puzzling and amazing! Yes! I find a significant portion of Tony's images posted here are both These are at the point of giving up on what magic could have possibly been used, and just going full screen and enjoy in the view.

The set of tools you are using on these Tony is really producing.
Detail like I've never seen with a hummer and at that ISO Just quite mindboggling.
Of course your processing has always been world class.
