Stunning shots, Geoff! #2 is my favorite. When I was in Florida in December last year, I spent 2 mornings chasing the Reddish Egret to get that pose. But I never got it.
Looks like the Spoonie has overcome the loss of a leg Geoff? Maybe a gator?
Comp on #2 is excellent, love the shot and the action here!
For me the highlights in #1 and #4 are a bit strong and robbing you of some detail and coloring perhaps? I so wanted #1 to be a vertical but it's got all the goods as it is too

Lovely angles and light sir....

Thanks Karl. If you'd like a print of #1 I can make it a vertical no problem
The spoony just has its leg tucked up...what you see is part of its toes....I know this as later on it walked over to Ron and I sitting in the shade after some tourist tried to take its picture with her phone

Thanks Amit. Funny thing is I didn't realize I'd gotten a sharp image of that pose right at the beginning and kept trying for at least 2 hours without another shot. Luckily I did have a couple in focus from the early action.

Great stuff Geoff. I hope to get to some serious editing today, but I have a funeral to attend first - inlaw of an inlaw ~ Ron
So THIS is why bird photogs travel to or live in warm, nicely lit places! It all makes sense now.
Beautiful set Geoff! You certainly got the low-down on these birds. Each is nicely composed with wonderful color and details (I had no idea the Spoonbill had such colorful legs).
As much a treat to view as I imagine they were to take. Thanks for posting.
