This is one of the Baffin Island’s locations that I am really looking for to come back to in 2017. During the last trip, I only had a chance to spend one night in that area. This time I plan to utilize the full potential of this phenomenal mountain. When I saw it for the first time, I instantly fell in love with these mysterious peaks. They create an impression as if they belonged to the prehistoric, or mythical world full of dragons.
I hope that this monochrome photo can give you a bit of feeling that I experienced while standing at the base of this unnamed peak. As I have found out local Innuit communities call that peak Innatiavaluk, but still, on the map, it has no name.
Surely this mountain has inspired legends. What a fantastic shot -- in every sense of the word. Eerie. Reminds me of the geology of Devil's Tower in Wyoming.
