Just fooling around trying to learn the camera. 50R that is, but I suppose there is no reason for a separate thread.
All shot handheld with the 45/2.8. Some are JPG's SOOC, and some raws converted to DNG and processed in ACR.
I find it more difficult to scale down the images without losing detail than from my other lower resolution cameras. Perhaps because you can't unsee the original glory of the files.
Ming has actually made previous articles that are very similar. They pretty much match my findings, though there are further complexities like color shift as ISO increases (which can ruin skin tones--a killer strike for me) which seems more related to the brand of manufacturer and their color science than the inherent hardware.
Of course this is not "necessary" and most people wouldn't even understand why the background is blurry in the first place. But you can see the difference.
