I like that you have the pine tree in the shot. IMO, the tree helps frame in the waterfall along with the large vertical rock outcropping on the right. Glad you were rewarded with such great light. Fantastic picture!
Thanks for your comment. My wife agrees saying she likes the tree in the shot saying the rock face is less interesting. I am not sure and would have liked to have a cleaner view tho perhaps I would have wished for a tree if I had none! My initial goal was to be more "environmental" as I tend to err on the side of being too tight in framing trying to maximize detail. As I have done more shooting, I have come to understand that the context of the shot around the subject often is what gives a picture interest. Thank you for your kind words and thought provoking comments.

Awesome shot, what did you shoot this on?
I missed firefalls this year but got a shot last year!
I shot this on my Sony A7r2 with the Leica R 180/2.8 apo lens at about F 5.6.with no filters. Thx much for your kind words. This was the second year in a row I spent a week at Yosemite for the show. This year, there were only two days it made an appearance out of the six nights I was there, but this one was special.
