As always, thank you for your replies and kind comments.

The other five kingfisher species are not uncommon in the right habitat but more secretive and I have never managed to get a good pic, I live in hope.

Kingfisher looks in the photos like an angel. I didn't even know that this magic birds are located in South Africa. Great pictures defenetly. Hot shots.

Great sets of photos of SA Kingfishers!
When I was in SA last year I got to photograph the Malachite Kingfisher and the Great Kingfisher.
