Great concept! Was this a composite of shots?
I used two images, both with the camera in the exact same location, and both were 30 seconds ISO 6400 at 14mm. I took one image before the train, and then one with the train at the far end of the tracks. I layered in the light of the train because lens flare was horrible =)

Definitely a very unique way of presenting the Milky Way. You're a brave man standing in front of an oncoming train, safe distance away or not...
Haha thanks so much! My heart was definitely pounding when I heard the whistle of the train. The 30 second exposure felt like 5 minutes hah.
Matt,
When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought you had somehow combined the Milky Way and the sun.
I was pleasantly surprised by your composition. Very creative and it works for me.

Hi Fred,
I appreciate the kind words! Haha now that would make my day, shooting the Milky Way in broad daylight ;D
