Here are two images from the same location in Yosemite.
Taken with a A7RII + Loxia 21/2.8 (focused stacked and using the SR app)
I hope you like it.
Fred
Fred,
#1 is pretty sweet, I like your low angle and the reflective color is beautiful. I also like the El Cap is coming through as massive as it is. Many images in my opinion that include it don't give you a sense of its massive presence .
Regards,
Dean
Did you do the focus stacking manually, or is there now a focus stacking app for the Sony's? I have the SR app, but would love it if Sony came out with a focus stacking one too
I prefer shooting at this location at 21mm or 28mm. Once you go wider, the foreground gets accentuated but El Capitan looks more distant and loses its power as you wrote.
Thanks for your feedback.

Beautiful Fred! I love the first one the most. Your images from this location are so good - I think it also has to do with the blue and gold complementary colors as well.
I think you and Yosemite go together somehow. You have been killing it with images from this location. These as well. I'll give the first one a slight nod over the second, but both are incredible images.
I like #1 more. The colors on Cap are better and the foreground is more interesting. You're killing me with all these Yosemite shots. I wanted to go in a couple weeks but I don't think it's going to work out.

Hi Jim,
I did the focus stacking manually. It's very easy with a manual focus lenses like the Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8.
So I took 16 images at the infinity hard stop and another 16 images at 2.5m covering my foreground just by looking at the lens focusing ring. In post, I just combined the two resulting images using ZereneStacker.

Beautiful shot. I'm hoping to visit Yosemite for the first time ever in mid March. I'm really looking forward to experiencing this national park.
Thank you Maritan,
I hope you have a great time. I was there in March about about 4 years ago and got a tremendous snow storm. Good luck!

I also prefer the first the most. The clouds were moving very fast. A few minutes later, the entire sky was overcast with low clouds and the mountains blocked.

This year, I am planning on visiting the park during Fall for a few days. It's been a while I don't see fall colors there.
Thanks for your feedback!
