Hi Dave
What do you think of the highlights back and right of the peak? Lowering the sky? The mountain to the right of the fish tail.
Are you familiar with Vitorrio Sella's work and specifically with his book Summit?
I like the foreground and peak but I get lost with that much sky and although the color is something else it does not move me to the sublime.
My comment is more of a discussion point. The Himalaya is not a place that most get to visit many times. It's so big that it is hard to get a handle on what is effecting one. The power of the place is overpowering. What hit me there is that I did not have enough life times to see and photograph what I wanted.

Hi Claude,
Thanks very much for your comments. I'm not familiar with Vitorrio Sella's work but when I get a chance I'll research. I've been to the Himalaya several times and the scale is indeed hard to get your mind around. I also have found it especially challenging to come away with good images.

Really awesome shot. Such a cool ridge and the light on it is great. My critique would be you seem to have crushed the highlights a bit too much in my eyes in order to maintain all that sky details which leaves it looking a bit washed out if you can say that for such a nicely colourful and saturated sky. All that said, it really does hold together nicely as an image so maybe it's not an issue!
Langran,
Thanks for your insightful comment. With my basic PP skills I have found the highlights in the sky, while not over exposed, especially challenging. I think I'll play with raising the white point.

MatthewSaville,
Yep, that's quite a compliment. Thanks very much.
