I like the uncropped version of the first shot. Shows the magnitude of the setting. The reflections of the mountains on the water for the cropped second shot really pops out at me. Fantastic shots and congratulations on getting the great lighting.
Crop versions most definitely...#1 Crop left side mountain range looks like a lurking alligator and I love the foreground 'hanging' rock....intriguing. Nice captures.
My favorite is the first one with some space around the mountain. Not only is the light special but the shadow cast by the mountain makes it pop. Very pleasing image visually. Rocks on the shore are served with golden light as well but on the other hand they are not so unique subject.

If this was your first trip to Scotland, it won't be your last. My wife was born in London and we get over to the UK every few years. We have made nine trips to the Highlands and plan another this summer. Pure magic is the only way I can describe that place. It gets inside your head. If you want another moving experience, take the ferry over to the Isle of Lewis and Harris next time. We spent a week there a few years back and were amazed at the remote beaches with clear blue water, rugged mountainsides, the Standing Stones of Callanish and wonderful people.
Beautiful images all. BTW, google Ian Lawson to see some stunning images of these islands as well as beautiful work in the Yorkshire Dales.
I hope to get back in a year or two... so much to see. It would take a lifetime to photograph it all!
Ian has some great work, thanks for the heads up!
I much prefer the uncropped versions as well for both pictures. The cropped version seems to trim some of the majesty from the scene. You framed both scenes beautifully to begin with. Love them both.
Incredible work Matt, congratulations on such a successful trip! You captured some stunning light and I love all your framing choices. The first panorama is just brilliant. The rights in the foreground on the right are spot on.
For my two pennies worth, I much prefer the uncropped Trotternish and the cropped version of Lochen na h'Achlaise. The light you found was gorgeous and all are beautiful images of areas I know well and need to visit again. I spent many a cold morning and some evenings too, trying to do justice to those areas. One of my fondest memories from the Quirang, was watching Ravens performing their breeding display flights over the edge of the cliffs.
Beautiful captures and thanks for bringing back the memories.
