Terrific set of images! I like the leopard but the clipped paw is a bit distracting. The young black-backed jackal is a nice shot. The lion and impala portraits are excellent. Looks like you had a successful trip and I hope you post more images.
Super Marcus.
The leopard on the road in your flickr stream is nice as well. THe lion stands out. Magnificient.
Did you do Londolozi/Sabisands for the leopards
Nig
I agree about the paw of the leopard being cut off, but it was the compromise i had to make with a prime lens and not being able to reposition at all. The leopard looked my way for not more than 30 sec and then turned his head away from me again and did not do anything for another hour in 32 degree celcius. So i finally decided to call it a day. Yet the light and mood of the image still made me decide to post it despite of the poor framing.
Thanks for all your compliments btw, much appreciated

The leopards were all in KP and Manyeleti. Wish i had a budget for Sabie Sands

Sabi sands/Londolozi is insanely priced. Nigil
I know people that visit Sabie Sands usually return with amazing shots but theres no self drive and the overnight tarifs are indeed insane. KP is more of a luck game. The key is staying in the parks camps and head out before sunrise when the gate opens. You'll get an hour headstart from the visitors outside KP. That is what we did.
Places like Sabi and Londolozi are indeed very high priced. On our trip in SA we stayed for a few days at a simple tented camp in Timbavati, this was excellent and much more reasonably priced. I don't need a spa or heated swimming pool in the bush
