Fine shots, Robert. What an experience!
Yes it was great. There were quite a few non photographers who kept coming back for more just to hike among the penguins.

Beautiful work, Bob! When were you there? Surely no moss has been growing on you in recent years with all these travels.
Hi Chaz. just came home last week. It was a long trip but was great. Different experience in wildlife. See below.

Very nice! How did the penguins react to your proximity? How close were you, exactly? They don't look disturbed. Very cool!
Wildlife in the Antarctica is different for other place on earth. They have never been abused by human. Penguins and other birds such as albatross just treat us like one of them. We are not allowed to come closer than10 ft from them. But when we stop, they would come to within 2 or 3 feet from us. Of course we respect them. No one would dream of doing any thing to even slightly disturb them. We came to few feet from thousands of incubating albatrosses and penguins. stay tuned, I will show more pics.
Great Photos!
My wife and I were as far south Punta Arenas but she didn't want to go to Antarctica and see the Penguins, someone told her they stink so bad you can hardly stand it. Is that true?

Mr.G
I went early. There was lot of snow around, that was what I want: penguins and snow. Np stinking. To think about what your wife is afraid of, yes, if you go in summer, from what I saw, it will stink for sure. So if your wife wants to see the penguins but not the stinking, I would suggest you take her there early October like I did. It was great in every way.
