A Frigatebird catches a green sea turtle hatchling as it emerges from it's nest. Santa Cruz, Galapagos, Ecuador March 2016
These hatchlings had little chance to reach the ocean as they emerged from their burrow during the day. From the moment the first head broke the sand to the last hatchling was gobbled up, it lasted only a few minutes. Not a single turtle reached the ocean.
One life feeds another.
