On a completely unrelated note.. anyone have or had the Ultron 21 with the a7rII? I'd like a fast wide prime, but hear conflicting things. The images I've seen from it look pretty decent. More for urban / environmental portraiture, not so much proper landscape work.
My dog Luna. Sonnar 50 C wide-open:
This was against the sun. Pretty good flare response. Rounded bokeh balls even towards the edges without inner artifacts.

Labradoodle? Looks like our Annie...
Fred - i was actually playing with search methods on google to help with the problem of "ASKED & ANSWERED"......
so, i'll start with an example of the question asked above and the results from google took me to THIS Thread, where ironically, the same person (not trying to pick on you DavidBM) asked the same question and you already replied:
The method i used was: from the google search box, type this:
"Labradoodle Luna site:fredmiranda.com"
and it only gives one result, go that that thread and scroll down, and there you have an answer.
I was thinking about the idea of developing/maintaining a FAQ but really the answers are already here - the site just needs a better 'search' capability - for example, within a forum, the search for "luna labradoodle" returns nothing, even though an outside search engine was able to find it.
The searching Within a Thread is more effective, but often the answers are in other threads.
Perhaps FAQs would initially encourage more questions to be answered, perhaps even proactively, but developing and maintaining something like that is an enormous amount of work and interest tends to wane quickly (as evidenced by countless FAQs on all subjects being half-baked or outdated because their original group lost interest).

Wow! I must be getting old! Have no recollection of asking. Must be a reflex on seeing Doodlish faces!

David, as i said - it wasn't meant to be specific to you, particularly b/c you're a great contributor to FM - but your query was rather timely. My original comment to Fred was going to be "Luna needs an entry in the FAQ". But even though Luna has made several appearances recently and i remembered the question having been asked, I couldn't find the answer using the search tools on FM but was amazed how quickly i was able to find the answer via google if you use the site-specific-search method. There's so much info contained in these forums, it'd be great if there were better tools to mine for it.

No I get the point! Very helpful! The really funny thing is that as I asked it (again) I thought "I'm sure someone has asked this before". I was right about that, at least!!
So here's my Labradoodle picture for the thread: thin justification for this one -- It's taken on the Mitakon 0.95/50 which I'm going to part with on the grounds that , having got the lovely C-Sonnar, you don't need too many expensive character 50s, and you can't put it on TAP you have to manual focus on eyes at 0.95....
Just some general comments. Its small by my book its built like a tank. The one thing is the close focus which it is not as it is a RF lens but the TAP really helps it a great deal. But I been swinging the focusing ring to minimum focus for these really tight shots. Its certainly a character lens. I have to get out and shoot it a lot more but its looking good so far. But you have to like its look which I do so far.

The two major complaints about this lens on the RF world were focus shift and long MFD. Both issues are now resolved with TAP and as a bonus, we also get AF.

Yes, virtually all RF lenses have longish MFD to minimize parallax issues associated with RF cameras.
Here is one of my first image tests of the C-Sonnar. I had to use the small flexible AF point in continuous AF mode to focus on my grandson's eyelashes instead of his eyeglasses' frame. The exif data is correct, too . I like the rendition coming from this lens a lot.
But what is with the stupid label of "DT 40mm f/2.8 SAM, Techart? Can you get rid of it from the exif data? You can leave it blank rather than that stupid label as far as I am concerned.

The TAP (and some of the other adapters) does it's thing by pretending to be a real A mount lens. They have to pick one and use it, or they could give you the option of picking one over the firmware update/Bluetooth connection, but they need to present as *some* A mount lens to do AF.
