I've seen your pickup truck parked there many times during the spring months but never bothered to stop on my way to stateline lookout. In the video I see that one of the birds is banded. This suggests that these birds are not shot at the lookout. I will definitely stop at this spot next time around! Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to see more!
It is fascinating to see in the video how the male curls his claws out of the way, resting on his "wrists" as it were so as to not hurt the female.
Were you on the side of the mountain above the bird? Great vantage point, getting the level or downward view, as opposed to shooting upwards into the sky.
