p.1 #1 · Florida birds and endangered opportunities
I haven't posted much here recently, but was prompted to do so by a request to sign a petition to preserve access to some wonderful wildlife observation opportunities.
The petition can be found here, and there is a FB site here.
There are passionate feelings on both sides of this controversy, and the intent of this post is not to rehash those feelings, but simply to raise awareness. For those of you who feel strongly about preserving photographic opportunities, I'll paraphrase a recent statement from one of my heroes: "Don't boo. Sign".
Here's a handful (mostly) from the Dot-Dash rookery at the mouth of the Manatee river, all taken from my kayak.

Oh my Greg !! I've missed your wonderful work. All are wonderful, but that osprey shot with that gorgeous light just calls to me. Thanks for the fantastic set and the link.
p.1 #6 · Florida birds and endangered opportunities
I have always really enjoyed your very fine work Greg, and these are all a pleasure to view... the Osprey is especially beautiful and the standout for me.
Lovely set my friend, and thanks for the link.

Birdie
As a relative newcomer, I think this is the first I've seen your wonderful work, but I echo Birdie's sentiment. LOVE that osprey portrait!

I'm with Birdie Greg. As good as all these shots are, the O is special ~ Ron
Thanks, Ron! Osprey was from a sunrise shoot on Blue Cypress Lake the same day as the big birds.

Hi stranger! Fine set of clean and clear images, Greg, with pleasing colors and fine detail. Thanks for the link. I wasn't aware of that.
Socrate
Back at you, Socrate! I've been traveling quite a bit but still hope to make it down to LA this year (that's Lower Alabama for those who aren't Tide or Tiger fans).

Great to hear from you, Kirk! I'm even more of a lurker at BPN but have enjoyed following your posts at both locations. Hope to be in the other LA (your neck of the woods) this Fall.

Great stuff Greg. Looks like a great place to shoot. All of these are cool, but the landing stork in #3 is super fun.
Speaking of LA! Hope that hamstring has healed; looking forward to the book, Dr. Anderson!

excellent photos and thanks for the heads up on the issues of the exclusion zone. Won't bring it up here but passions high on both sides.
If anyone is interested here is the info from Ann Paul the area bird biologist on why a zone is needed.
