, ya they are well photographed! Although they are starting to get sick of it so I have to be careful. That is why I'm soon to acquire a puppy so I can get some photo relief on that little dude. HA!
I have all of you to blame! My 105mm F1.4E arrived on last week, did a quick Dot Tune on both D810's and then off to a session. I dislike this lens so much I might as well sell off my other lenses, . Absolutely love this new version of the 105mm.

And just to show you it actually works at less than wide open, here you go!
Well, I just sold my 200 F2 because of this lens. After my sample shots, I kept having to go back and fourth to try to see which I liked better. The 200 or the 105. I kind of like the compression better on the 200, but I don't know, for some reason I kind of liked the 105 shots a little more, I can't even tell you why. Maybe it's the "character" it has, or the warmer colors, maybe both. But at any rate I hated shooting with the 200 F2, it was fine for some shoots, but the long ones it got to be grueling when I started doing it every day during busy seasons. I figured if they are that close to me, why keep it when I can get 4k for selling it. The 105 is just so much lighter. I am also keeping an eye on the Sigma 135, but honestly even with the little more compression I don't know if I will like it as much as the 105, might end up passing on it. Especially if the AF isn't as accurate, i'm not trying to play musical Sigma 135's. I have heard of people having to trade Sigma Art lenses in more than Nikons to try to get a good copy.

One thing I forgot to mention. 90% of our shoots are girls HS senior photos. And It did seem like the 200 F2 made them look a little larger than the 105 did. I guess it compresses things too much. I really think that this focal length is about perfect for not too much distortion, but also not flattening too much. And being that it's at 1.4 it still melts the backgrounds. I love this lens.

Not everything needs to be shot at f/1.4. Don't bash others because they used f/4! In my opinion, f/1.4 is used too much, overdone! It's great for portraits but that's about it. Think about it, if Nikon intended for this lens to be shot wide open all the time, they wouldn't have installed an iris to stop it down!
