I have some leftover hoods from lenses I used to own and I found that the 70-200 VR1 hood works with this lens! It fits perfectly and looks much nicer than the dog bowl stock hood.

To Elijah:
Fascinating comparison. I’ll avoid all the bokeh differences for now. What interests me the most is that for this type of full length shot the 58 is just a better focal length. I can see the setting much better. The tight 105 shot disguises the background; there’s less context. What do you think?
Got a copy of the Kenko N-AF 1.4x Teleplus 300 Pro for the 105E.
Just some basic LR PP.
I'm not overly happy with the sharpness. In this case I needed to stop down to 4.0 to get comparable sharpness with the bare 105E at 1.4

You're absolutely right, I agree with you a 100%...
In fact, a lot of times I would prefer the 58G over the 105E when shooting the last 2-3 weddings.
It's strange because at first, I even said back on here that I wouldn't use the 58G as much after a 105E purcase.
But then again, depending on how you frame, your 105E outcome might be even better than than 58G
