@Ken_Cravillion@ Does Eye-AF work with the A7R3 like it does on the A9? That might be what gets me to jump from my A7R2 body to the A7R3 body.
Yup, Eye-AF works really well with the A7RIII. I used the A7RIII, Nikkor 105mm f1.4 combo a ton fir Saturdays wedding.

I was just asking Charles about this recently.
I agree, it's working well.
It's not quite up to Sony's par. But good.
Yes LiveView is not as fast as the Sony since it is contrast detection AF but OVF with face/eye on AF-C AUTO/3D or d9 d72 is superb. For dynamic AF/options and speed the D850 is much better than the A7rII and was one of the main reasons I moved back to Nikon. The A7rII has very accurate AF no lens calibrations required but was not as good for moving and dynamic subjects. Each system has its strengths. The other aspect with the A7rII was with strobes/flashes there always seemed to be a delay and some inconsistencies. The A7rIII is an excellent choice for those seeking a MILC option alongside but do select your lenses carefully. The A9 is not on my radar just for the cost factor alone in Australia as it is for many other photographers here. I have mentioned this before that Sony service in Australia is getting better but still not on par with Canon or Nikon. I just don't understand why they treat Australia as an annex of Asia. I will be testing the A7rIII within the next week and I will be looking to add the A7rIII to my D850/D750 gear alongside as both systems have their strengths. For now there is no rush
