Ironically I could have done with more DOF on some other shots in this swing series to improve my hit rate.
I had the Sigma Art 135mm f1.8 along side with the Nikon 105mm f1.4. People say it's close. To me, there is a distinct difference. The Sigma is sterile. There is something special about the 105mm.
Crop the 105 to match the sigma 135 and they will look the same. I have both, they both are unique and have their place in the field. The reason why the background looks so much different/better on the 105 is because you can get closer to your subject and still have room on the top, right, and left sides of the person. The sigma is much more compressed. Same way with the 85mm FL vs the 105... the 85 has a wider view.
