RE the crop, I tried many different ones. I sent my friend a copy with lots of background on either side so she can crop how she wants when she gets it printed, but I found this one to be the most interesting (to my eye). Thank you again for all of the comments.
The crop is fine. A more traditional crop with the subjects centered would be static.
That's an excellent use of garage door lighting. Most examples have the subject square to the door instead of at an angle like you have here. That, combined with the negative reflector covering the drive gives the light a nice directionality.
I also like the warm, natural posing. Excellent work!

In my opinion, many don't realize when you have a fixed large soft light source you move the subjects in relationship to get the right light instead of moving the light source to the right light. As I said Lisa has the real ability to see light. Also she shoots in a way that she can achieve what she sees and complete that vision through processing. Both are important and should be especially if you are trying to create a look or style. She knows that and does it very well. I would consider work like this her personal work and the more fantasy work what she does is more for clients. I could be wrong but I don't think so. This type of portrait seems to me, to be more personal, more honest, more Lisa.

Once again you have proven that talent and an eye for light outweighs equipment. Beautiful image and I'm sure your friend will cherish it for a long time to come.

Beautiful as always. I might have done many things differently but no doubt would not have been better. You have great skills and I'm grateful that you display here often.

I'm sure your friend will be pleased: It took me a moment to figure out which one was "mom". Her face looks more mature than the teenage daughter, but not "older".

Lisa, the natural lighting, the b/w conversion and the 3 beautiful ladies just make this a fantastic image. The eyes just draw you right into the frame! Almost haunting in an exceptional way!
Just more fantastic work Lisa!
