The old town in Rome has lovely cobbled and very narrow streets which don't deter any drivers from taking their cars [very slowly!] down those bumpy lanes.
This was a 2 second exposure without tripod... I used a someone's side mirror and it worked a treat (didn't even set off the car alarm )! I am learning to take fully manual shots and it's great fun!
As always - comments are very welcome! I just wish I had time to leave on it Photo Critique for a couple of days - I don't usually 'work' my photos this much
Pretty good shot !
I wouldn't have dare the 2 second exposure without a tripod... but the result is perfect.
(Now stop it : if you go on like this you're going to win every week )
Very nice picture Carolina and just perfect for the assignment!
I found a cobblestone street for this week’s assignment (before your post) but didn’t get any nice subjects to shoot, yours is great. Good luck…
Fix: I was lucky the side mirror of the car was in just the right angle! And thanks for your encouragements - I wouldn't bet on the results though
John: Thanks for the reply! I didn't realise how good it would look until I went down there and filled a couple of memory cards! Looking forward to seeing your cobblestone street if you get a shot!
Cathy: Yes, there is motion blur but the lights from the car were so bright that it turned out as thin silhouettes for the two girls. There are two guys on the left, one of which you can barely see because of the blur. Here's a detail of the high-res original:
The reason the others are not more blured is because most of their motion is in the line of sight I believe. The guy in the detail is the more 'sideways' of all people in the photo. But that's just my 2c worth of physics
Joe: Thanks! I am not that used to b&w and this definitely looked better that way - all orange otherwise
The lines and shapes in your picture really show the texture there. What a beautiful shot. Thanks for sharing how you did it and where it is. I imagine myself being there!
Thank you Ken!
I just realised it! I have been off line for a few days so am just about catching up!
Now that's certainly something I didn't expect! Yay!
