I will now present to you a unique piece of Finland. These are as rare as hen's teeth in this corner of the world. I bought my first camera in 2008 after seeing an iconic landscape from southwestern Finland in which a sand ridge rises from the sea connecting two small isles. After 400 000 km of driving in total around Finland I found a location which only in certain conditions will be revealed.
You have some great captures as reward for some time put in! I very much appreciated the opportunity to view and area that I would like to go to but may not be able to.
M. J.,
They are all pretty stunning !
#2 is a major standout the composition is wonderful and this image works extremely well as a b/w.
I really enjoyed seeing these.

Dean

Wow love that first one too. The soft light and beautiful color do it for me,

Light was soft, yes, almost the opposite to the sunset. Only those red clouds giving the scene a light pop.

Love the 1st and 2nd, the rd feels little too heavy on the right.

Thanks Andrey.
#3 was a dilemma for me as there is an ugly island to the right which came into composition as I tried to position the island more to left from that location. #3 was also taken on different day and the sand ridge had changed its shape a little bit from previous photo session. It is shaped by waves hitting from both sides and is usually underwater for most of the time.

Thank you very much. It is indeed a rare location for our little country. Maybe there are similar spots somewhere near you? I found this by looking at satellite maps for certain underwater shapes and started to visit all candidates until I found a match for my vision.

#2!
Thanks! #2 for certain has more drama in it and is shot further back behind the sand ridge.

B&W for me. The polarizer affect in the sky kills the 1st one for me.
Thank you Chez. Polarizer is kind of two edged sword yes, it popped those clouds but with a price to pay. I tried to search for a spot to get a composition with 90mm lens to get an alternative option with CPL but could not find one nearby.

Thank you Dean. I included the BW as I had some difficulty deciding for just the color version after seeing the rich contrasts the scene offered.
Thank you! I spent the whole evening there just listening to the sea and all the birds nearby waiting for the last light to pop.

Awesome set. Excellent comp and beautiful light. Hard to pick a favorite.
Thanks Dave. I could not pick just one either, so I included...four The last one is kind of flat compared to others but it may work as a complementary photo for viewing the isle as a whole.

2, 3 and 4 rock! Very nice work! Congrats on the very nice images.
Thank you Mark. Thanks to you I now have some kind of lust for lightning strike shot with this little isle later in August when those nighttime storms hit the shores every year...
MJ, Thank you for confirming that Google Map is my friend. I live in the middle of target rich country that is a times revealed my a fly-over in the Google .
