Thanks, Bobby. That's a shot I never would have had without m4/3 gear. I was walking back home and just happened upon that scene. Only because I was walking with a camera and lens with 600mm EFL was I able to capture that image. With FF gear, the rig would have been in a backpack. The bird allowed two frames before flying off.
Just back from a three day backpacking trip and trying to get caught up in the forums.
This shot before leaving last week, M1ii + EOS 400/5.6
I'd hoped the M1ii would have done better with the MBs than my Sony stuff does. Not.
So now I see the EOS M5 + 400/5.6 is still the best in my kit for stationary/perched birds for adapted AF.
Personally I'll grab my PL100-400 before adapting anything moving but it was fun experimenting.
Your photo instructor deserves a raise! She'll make a photographer out of you yet, Robert! Great shot

Wow... one of the cleanest shots I've seen from you, Robert! Great job!

Lovely color this is, Mitesh you look like sorted with the new system.
Thanks, Anurag. It's been a lot of fun, and the system is going to get even better as the technology progresses.

Ha, I don't even want to think about such a thing! In the Falklands, Gentoo penguin egg omelettes are considered a treat. I wouldn't have any part of it, but another visitor did, and he said the egg had a distinct "fish taste" to it. Yuck!
I was just kidding, of course! Having said that, I do like quail eggs.

Mockingbird from Florida panhandle. On a recent trip I photographed lots of birds; Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, F-18A's, and even a few rare Blue Angels.
Nice, Robert! That is one of my my favorite phases of the moon. It really brings out the detail in the craters and mountains in the lower half.
Did you take more than one shot? A stack of about 10 shots like this would gain a lot in detail by canceling out atmospheric distortion. Registax 6 does a great job, is fun to play around with, and is FREE!
That is a lens to drool over! There are not many I would REALLY love to have, but that is on the top of the list, but then, hey, why not? I'll take a 600/4 II to go please... no need to wrap it up.
Haha Dan! Thanks.
Soon enough I will part with this heavy white beast.
Like (I think Imagemaster) I'm aging and will have to sell off the Canon kit whether I want to or not.
One crazy thing, even with the 2.0TC the M1ii (verson 2.7 still, I'll get to 2.6 as soon as I can) it AF'ed.....of course I had great contrast on the edge of the Moon to focus on and it is essentially as 'perched' object.
I did think about stacking (I've done a bit of astro- https://www.flickr.com/photos/medicineman4040/14560647563/in/album-72157640003022543/
But I was just taking a super quick break from helping Poof on yet another mod in our campervan.
Plus with the frame rate of the M1ii you could very quickly get the frames needed. I just don't have a cable release and as mentioned didn't feel I had the time to set up the smart phone for the release.
Now detail I got I was surprise by, it was very windy...so I chose e-shutter wright or wrong.
Thanks again Dain for the comments and your other help lately=greatly appreciated!
