As the sun was fading from the day, the Castle Mountain was ready to take a rest for the night. I just wanted to have the last breath of the fading light and still was around the area after most of the photographers left. The purplish color on the pebbles and water was with me as well.
I stayed there for another 30 min or so to enjoy the mysterious scenery that followed.
Thanks for watching.
( I am adding one more image with tiny bit upped overall exposure. I will delete one of them after getting some feedback as to.. )
I prefer the first shot as well. Although the beach is better exposed in the second the focus is on the mountain/mist/trees which look better as shadows imo.
On a second note there is something going on in the lower right hand corner. Some sort of dark patch which im guessing is a shadow cast from the trees. If it is, the first shot hides it a bit better since the its a little underexposed

Hi srimmey,
Thanks for your feedback and giving me the reason of picking the first image to the second. And also some kind of shadow cast in the right lower hand corner. Much appreciated.

Mysterious photo you have right there. The darker variant suits my eye better. It is the shroud of dusk which makes it for me. Composition is delicious as well.
I would perhaps combine the brighter sky part of the 2nd with the 1st image if this was my photo.

Thanks for your very good suggestion and feedback, MJKoski.

A pretty, peaceful scene Kee. Hard to pick between 1 or 2 since both have the same problems for me. The sky appears to have such an abrupt transition from bright to dark and the whole scene is leaning right. I think correcting those minor issues would make for a stronger image.

Kee,
Excellent images. If these were mine I'd play with raising the white point/contrast in the sky as it looks a bit flat, especially in the 1st.

Hello Dave and Tuan,
Thanks for your excellent suggestion and feedback. I will go back to the drawing board as soon as I can.
I love the fact that you stayed for something other photographers did think of or did see the worth of the wait. You did great capturing the "mystery", if you will, by the 1st darker image. It is a little right heavy, but looks great anyway, and I am not even sure if the surroundings allow you to have a "perfect" balance or not. Thanks for sharing.
Great shot. Very well done. I prefer the second. It has greater tonal range and the colors are brighter. More vivid. Just my 2 cents. The first one is more moody. Not a bad thing if that's what you wanted.

Thanks Buckeye1 for your kind words and comment. In fact the "mystery" came after this shot, which I may upload them later when the images are ready. Good day!

Hi yakiman,
Appreciated for your comment and feedback. Looks like that combining the two images in terms of exposure may result somewhat improved one. Have a wonderful day.

My preference would be for the lighter mountain and foreground of the second shot with the deeper sky of the first photo. I think that would retain the moodiness of the first photo, but allow one to probe the depths of color of the mountain, and also brings up the color of the rocks. Perhaps, while darkening the sky, you could bring down the brighter colors of the water in the foreground.
I like what you did.

Nice moody image Kee. Nice job. Really nothing to add here.
