Thank you very much! Getting out in nature is one of my best ways to relieve stress. I need to get out more!
I think many of today's aspiring landscape shooters spend way too much time and money worrying about the latest-widest lens and the latest Lightroon plugin or photoshop tutorial thinking THAT is what landscape photography is all about. For me, it's about the connection with mother nature and the incredible light she can create. And maybe snapping a few photos along the way too.
I don't comment much on here anymore for various reasons (at least on the landscape forum), but this image is fantastic! It really is inspiring!
as for your statement, this is very true. I don't pay attention to the noise on social media or cliques - it is ALL high school stuff. Seems it is all about making money off of photography now a days. I see all too often people are so engrossed on bracketing and focus stacking and checking the weather apps and whatever, that they miss the forest for the trees. Most of the time I just sit there and relax. tomorrow is NOT promised.
What really is sad is we should be stewards of these very lands we are obsessed with shooting, but that rarely happens. just some things that i have been thinking about the last several years. didn't mean to hijack your thread.
again, wonderful shot. i would be proud to call it mine

Thank you all so very much! The positive energy I am getting is helping me through a difficult time right now! May sound silly to some but for me energy is all around us and I feed off of it. Whether it is good or bad. Since there is a lot of negative energy on this earth right now if affects me and it takes a lot of positive energy to combat it. Thank goodness photography is not my only artistic outlet and source of positive energy. Music (acoustic guitar) has now become a major part of my life again. It always has but now getting closer to recording another album. This time I am working with another guitarist and best friend who is on the same page as I and the material we are coming with I feel is unique and refreshing. Without music I think I would lose it! lol
