Gorgeous color! Spot on focus on the critter. Wonderful details there.
Thank you very much.

Another one of your super captures with excelent sharpness and exposure. You might want to try a square crop taking off the bright part of the bottom leaf. I've enjoyed this image.
Morris
Morris, thank you. I struggled with the crop and normally would have cropped in tighter. However on this one , I really like how the dappled light through the trees hits the leaf and kind of leads one up to the frog.

Im fond of the play of light in this image Birdie. Its a floral with a frog bonus and a brilliant one at that. However cut the comp down the middle of this flower and you could make it a 'frog' shot in a floral setting
It is peaceful and beautiful
Karl
Really appreciate it Karl. I actually was shooting just for the frog , but I liked the way the light fell on the whole scene. I do have some that are more the frog on flower

Beautiful shot, Birdie. Any cropping would not improve it for me.

Beautiful image and the apparently resting "critter" just adds to it.

Brain, thank so much. The critters are usually what catch my eye first

A great shot birdie, but I do agree with Morris about a horizontal crop to remove the bright leat. Karl's suggestion would also work, but, as he said, will change the focus of the shot ~ Ron
Thanks so much Ron ! 99% of the time I would crop much tighter , but this one I went for something a bit different because of how the light was falling. Different is not always better, I know

Well I love the shot and if it was mine I might just crop it the way you did That said before reading the other comments my thoughts for changing this one up were to make it a narrow vertical comp, along the lines of Karl's thoughts but with even less flower and more dead space on the right. I'm not sure that would be an improvement, more you would get two great shots out of one!
Tim
Much appreciate Tim. Have not thought of more space of the right!

At first I did not like the way the light fell on the leaf, but with returned viewing, it seems entirely natural. That is how the light fell at this particular time. Although it does bring my attention down to that less critical part of the image, my eye quickly bounces back to the critter in sharp relief. So, it seems balanced to me. Perfection is not always ideal.
Your description is how I see it also, thanks so much.

Viewed on black this is really beautiful Birdie. I really like the varying levels of light hitting different parts of the image.
Beautiful color and detail, effective DOF, and terrific composition as always. Super image.
Kirk
Much appreciated Kirk. I was going for how the light was falling as much as the frog.
