It's not often I see this much detail, color and depth in any BIF Kirk unless it's you
#1 dramatic in pose and immense in color! I simply love love love this shot! BG is in harmony with the subject too
#2 wonderful display of feather patterning on the neck following back onto the body and along the top. Impressive openness to the darks bringing out the richness in color yet not looking like it was ever underexposed in that area so kudos to exposure and PP work for presentation! Wow Karl, thank you so much for the very thoughtful and generous critique... I really appreciate it my friend.
I have almost entirely abandoned shooting with the TC-14E II as it just doesn't yield the detail that I want to have. The D810 40MB files allow for cropping to "700mm FOV" with the sharpness that you see in these images. That combined with new sharpening method in PS CC has me very satisfied. I'm very anxious for Spring and the little chicks that will soon follow at my favorite pond.
Thanks again for the good words buddy... I hope you're able to get out shooting and posting soon, I miss your work.
