What a wonderful collection of images. It's a real treat to see so many creatures I have not seen before. Thank you for sharing these with us. When the first hippo image appeared on my monitor, it brought a huge smile to my face.

Thanks Harvey...hippos can be a lot of fun to photograph but they are also quite dangerous so keeping distance is a good idea...what looks like a fun loving animal quickly can turn into something much more....but they also put a smile on my face too!
Eric
I should hang out here more often, you should get shut in more often, or both!
Wow, wow, wow...this is a fantastic collection of amazing animals, and a wonderful reminder of the diversity and visual opportunities on the world's second-largest continent. (It's also a reminder to ask you for advice when planning a trip there!)
No favorites for me; as much as I love feathered creatures, I have to say that it's the big animals that really drew my attention. How on earth did you manage to get such fantastic hippo shots? And that warthog piglet looks, well, cuddly!

That Abyssinian Ground Hornbill is damn near as ugly as I am. Pity
Thanks Charles...I'm sure it is just as loved by it's friends as you are
