Beautiful image, great clouds and it is so nice to see the detail in those sea stacks, that I missed when I was there. It is very pleasing to see a great photo from that location. I do find the bottom fanning action a bit awkward but as I rarely do panos, i have no idea about the difficulty and the results.

Hey Brian,
I am glad you liked the shot, it was really beautiful to see that light bounce around. What bottom fanning are you talking about? The bubbles from the water?
I really like the fanned look. I usually don't like those coast bubbles but this one plays well. The patterns all point inward, which is great. Good take Jim.
Jason
Hey Jason I am glad you liked this.
I am with you on not typically liking bubbles in the water at the ocean. While they tend to always look cool in person, they usually end up being distracting when captured. But this was one case where I too liked they way they fanned out and seemed to really lead the eyes into the shot.

Great stitching in general, but yeah, the wave in the shadow of the right-hand middle large stack is a bit noticeable.
What technique did you use to create this pano, by the way?
Hey Matt,
I think I answered your question about stitching in my reply to Scott.
As to the wave in the shadow of the right/middle sea stack, you had me going back to the original to double check, and there was no stitching in the area you are describing, that whole chunk of that sea stack was stitched intact from top to bottom. There ended up only being one area where a wave was not lined up, and I used a little warping to pull it back and line it up.
Even though I will occasionally shoot pano's at the beach, I rarely ever even try to stitch them when I get back home because usually the waves do turn into a mess of misalignment. I tried on this one because I really liked the way the clouds of color were arching almost like eyes around each of the sea stacks and the pano was the only way to get it without it feeling cutoff on the edges. So I was totally surprised when after stitching I had only found that one area (which isn't the area you are describing).
Beautiful photo Jim! You got some great light there! I am not normally the biggest fan of sea stacks, but then one is really nice on the eyes! I think the great colors and light combined with the pano format make it a really strong photo. Nice work!
Jim, I really dig the comp and colors. That hangover I think added some creative insight. I also find a few warm milk stouts before a low key shoot looses you up, too ;-)
