I was wondering why you shot with higher ISO values. You mentioned having fairly powerful strobes. Was it so that you could match the ambient light conditions more closely? Thinking aloud here, if the light on your models is too different from the ambient light, you either have to light everything, or lower the light until it is closer to the ambient conditions.
Lovely shots. Lovely lighting.
Thanks.

Thanks, Dave! No, you didn't miss an explanation. The ISO 2500 is really not an issue for the Nikon D4. I wanted to use as much ambient as possible but the lighting was from overhead, casting a raccoon-like shadow over the models' eyes. So my strobes were mainly for fill and to ensure the models were well-light, without overpowering the rest of the scene. In the cover shot, we wanted to see the fire in the fireplace and that decision alone required that I set the exposure to the ambient light that we had available. So we basically went with what you alluded to earlier, lowering the light until it matched the ambient conditions.
