Love 'em....love 'em....the first reminded me of a few people at my son's wedding this past weekend...just without all the makeup They really remind me of meerkats but are probably less approachable...I guess they also have to be aware of predators from above as well as things like coyotes and other land based carnivores.
Eric
Ah what goes on at weddings They kind of are like meerkats in a cute, large rat sort of way! The do need to keep an eye out for raptors, coyotes and badgers in the area we were in. As a matter of fact in one of the Pdog towns there was a resident coyote. The most beautiful, well fed coyote you have ever seen. Thank you Eric.

Tim,
That first one is a'Bomb!
I have photographed prairie dogs many times, but this behavior is among the most difficult to capture as it is very unpredictable. The fact that you were able to catch two at one time speaks volumes about your ability to catch the peak moment of action.

bruce
It is so beyond predictable!! I spent many hours trying to capture that behavior, when you expect it they don't do it and you don't they do
You are too kind Bruce, thank you very much!

I never seen them before and hope to one day.

They really are easy to pass by and not think much of. But if you spend some time watching them they are a blast. I have been wanting to photograph them for a while and finally made the opportunity. Thanks Tim
