For many years I've wanted to photograph scenes like this at Victoria Beach, MB. Yesterday's strong winds and cold temps made for the perfect conditions for ice to form on this tree. A very tricky camera angle to set up for but my efforts were rewarded when the sun poked out from the clouds just before dropping below the horizon. This explosion of colour only lasted a few minutes but I was prepared for it.
i think the left part of the image is where the real magic is. the right side would be interesting if the left side werent dominating the whole show. as it stand the right side is a distraction.
