Congratulations to Chris Schlaf for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
This summer was slower (less productive) than most and I have no idea why. I did still manage to get a few
nice images. Honest opinions are always appreciated
Hello Chris........I look forward to seeing your efforts when you put them together to share
#1 is a stand alone winner all its own. Great creative capture and a fine bold choice to display in B&W. It is powerful and tranquil at the same time, love love love it
#2 delightful details and fun with color! Nice shadowing on BG, I actually like the spider webbing showing below the branch too.
#3 a nice grab of anticipation and contemplation of a perfect two-point landing. Love those 'chicken legs'
#4 could be a wee bit sharper at the eye for me to lock me on
#5 creates a cool warmth feeling and sense of peacefulness for me
#6 certainly in form with your ways of pushing the composition, crisp and spot on sweet here
#7 I'm surprised in your comp you left as much in front of the subject exiting frame
#8 caught me by surprise, what a weird critter.
#9 and who says that the American Starling doesn't make for a great subject? One of my favs here of your set Chris, very cool.
#10 Ohhhhhh man this is wonderful. Nice looking BG, love the 'ready to strike' pose and the subtle reflection below that you kept that does not distract or intrude. Well done
#11 interesting minimal depth of field but all that was needed was captured precisely, head on shots don't come easy, great perspective.
I can only imagine how many hours are invested into to obtaining these, congrats on your dedication for artistic beauty and your abilities to capture and present it in a most enjoyable way.
Another wonderful set Chris I would like to echo Karl's comments as he is almost always spot on in his observations .I am going to pick your swans as my favorites in no particular order .
