Awesome Jeff! Very nice work and I love the details in the flame. Have you considered cropping the hand and can out of the right side? For me, I think I'd like to see just the hand with the match and the flame. The can doesn't add much in my opinion and removing it adds some mystery...but that's just me! Good luck.
Also...I wondered with this assignment if any fire alarms were called in!?

Thanks for comments, Jon!
I kept the hand in to give context to the origin of the flame and kinda a nostalgia kick for when we all did dumbass stuff like this when we were kids. Did I mention that I'm 35?
BUT, I will post over to Critique to get more opinions now that you bring it up.
No fire alarms AND I kept both eyebrows! I imagine my firefighter brother would not approve of what I was doing, ha.

Very cool shot Jeff! You captured nice detail in the flames!
How many shots did it take you to finally nail this?
Dave
Thanks Dave!
I took a number with some different settings and wasn't totally pleased with what I ended up with. So then I adjusted (swapped bodies too) and took about 60 pics or so, just to capture a variety of fireballs and provide leeway to pick and choose what I liked best.

Jeff,
I think it does look great as is, and I get the nod to nostalgia, which does add to the context. It may be too tight a crop anyway and not leave much space on the right. I'm glad no one was hurt in the production.

Too late - you've got the gears in motion!
I am pretty sure I've got room to spare so I'm gonna play when I get home.
Everyone - after getting some input over at Critique I decided to edit my submission and do something of a composite. Same image, just moved some things about.

Hi Jeff,
Well, I'm not going to be shy...I love it! For me, this really induces a "wtf!?!?" kind of response, and, being one who likes clean, elegant and simple compositions, it just sings. Nice work.

Thanks Jon!
Glad ya dig - it was your response that got the wheels turning.
