Nicely done. IMO this one doesn't need that tree on the right side, crop to just the left of the tree...will give more focus to the gloom and doom...and there is already a tree under the clouds that works better in this case.

This would be a good print on metallic paper
Thank you Sunny. Actually, the tree is an integral part of the image for me. The owners grandfather planted that tree in 1907 when he immigrated from Australia. As is the tree is too close to the storm to crop. When cropped I don't like the balance in the water. This is actually cropped from a larger pano. After much consideration this is the crop that worked best for me.
Great shot, Scott! After your comment on my Yellowstone thread, I happen to see this and I am now inspired to give the B&W conversion a try and see what I can come up with!

Thank you Heron. Have fun. I like to approach my conversion as if I am shooting BW film with coloured filters. Red filters turn blues skies very dark and brighten up green vegetation for example. You can also use photoshop's BW adjustment layer and create a custom conversion. Don't be afraid of contrast in BW.
I am glad you got in to that farm. Those clouds are killer, but I am not feeling horror by looking at this. Maybe it's a Canadian thing?
I agree with Aaron that it feels too dark for me too. If you are trying for a doom and horror feel, having it darker doesn't necessarily convey that.

First, the ominous tone speaks for itself. But I have to admit I would prefer to see some additional light detail in the foreground. Just a little more. Otherwise I wish I took that.
Since I am a very old OKIE, i.e., from tornado alley, I would judge this cloud to be one mean booger!! Personally, I would probably be looking for a road OUT, not in.
Glad you got to where you did though...I really like the second image, and would give it a 4.9/5 only because nothing is perfect; otherwise, it should be judged at least a 5/5.
