A few weeks ago I set sail in search of these falls that a good friend told me about. These falls are not a tourist attraction but more a locally known place. This is now my new 'go to' spot and it's only 2.5 hours away . I've been there twice now and have plans for many more trips. The last 2 were images taken on my first visit in the middle of a super hot and sunny day. I got lucky and while I was there some clouds moved it and gave me some shade to shoot with. More importantly, a break from the scorching heat. The first 3 images are from my second visit. Coincidentally, just after finding these falls, the first time, I got a call from a client to photograph a $million+ cottage not even 30 min from these falls. So I planned to shoot them again afterwards. It was an ugly day though. Overcast and raining but the forecast called for clearing over night. So I thought, with some luck, I would get clouds breaking up around sunset. So after the shoot and dinner with my client I took off to this area. It was still overcast and not looking hopeful but sunset was still a few of hours away and so I did some exploring instead. Not finding anything I just parked at a lake shore nearby to watch the skies and kill some time. After an hour things started to change and give hope so I made my way to the falls. The trek from the car was a little tricky with the fresh rain as everything was muddy and very slippery. When I arrived at the falls I had time to kill yet so I dropped my gear and just walked in front of the falls to decide on compositions. I got lucky, the clouds continued to break up and I was given some great colour and was ready for it. Unfortunately it was quite windy and so some things are blurred due to the wind.
Hard to tell but the falls are about 20ft high and are quite low this summer. So if all goes well this place should be a gem come fall time.

It's hard to pick any favorites. Great color and water flow.
I like #1, but felt wanting more angle of view, then I got it with the next shot! I really like this comp. The wind blurred some vegetation in the left corner so I'm glad you went beyond them for the next shot.
I like the last one, black and white. Very dramatic.

Thank you very much Chaz, David, Brad, and Markus. I am really looking forward to returning back here. I am still new to this place and need several trips and more time to study it as well study how light works its way throughout. So far, my favourite perspective is the last image. Across the pond I spotted a potential spot to shoot with a longer lens and an elevated level. Roughly 10ft higher than the falls. Not sure if it is even accessible though. Extremely rough looking forest terrain to bushwhack through. I may try it one day.
I think #3 is very special. Those gorgeous clouds arching across the sky seemingly toward the falls make this a very dynamic composition. Very well done!
Really nice! I tried to pick a few favorites but kept changing my mind since there are aspects in each that I enjoy. Look forward to seeing more from this area.

Thank you Pete. Actually this one is in Ontario. I need to start exploring new areas and Ontario is right next door with MANY great photo spots. Just need to find them yet.
