I was hired recently to photograph this beautiful mom to be's first pregnancy. They traveled here from Denver to see me. Of course, we'd be in the midst of one of the worst heat waves in years the day of her shoot. It was 115 degrees - insane. I had brought along an ice chest full of ice and water bottles and they were gone by the time we were finished - it was crazy hot. Somehow, this beautiful lady pulled it off and looked amazing doing it! (I'm sure I looked like a hot disaster of a mess by the time this shoot was over). Anyways, lots of favorites so this will be a long share!
All of them are awesome of course, but for me, No. 3 just kills it. Was the background rock that red, or did you add it? Looks totally naturally, just looks awesome.
All great as usual. And the lucky couple will have great way to remember. And perhaps the conditions will add to the adventure and the story they tell. A family history story that will be passed down. Good job.
And then there is number 15 here. A departure. Different. Timeless. Could have occurred anytime in the last 100 years. Contemplative. A little lonely with the background and wardrobe. Possibly not a favorite in the scheme of things. Yet, compelling. My favorite for going outside the proven formula. And brings a certain solitude that a woman with child can experience. It's her and the child. In the bigger landscape.
Reading too much into it? Perhaps. But it's still intriguing.
These are beautiful Lisa. The colors and composition are superb. I really like #5 but the B&W is my favorite. The joy that only a mother can know is evident in her smile. A very moving image for me. Thank you for sharing.

As usual, these are great. The first thing I thought as I progressed past the first 7 was how did you prevent her from burning her bare feet and skin on those rocks? Hot air is one thing, but hot rocks must have been worse!
