I'm not normally a fan of pet photography (my thing, not disparaging anyone else's preferences), but this image is arresting. These dogs could be an old married couple, or a couple of well-behaved kids. Your composition and lighting and processing are excellent. Great work!
This was a fleeting moment, while preparing for a real people portrait, motivated by a snack. There is little else that would hold their attention like this :-)
And yes certainly are a big part of our family. The blue heeler is all business and the "bull-hound" is serious about his naps.
