Simply an unreal / surreal moment. I am so glad I made the trip to Tulabi Falls for this aurora show. All alone at night in nature with nothing but the sound of the water fall is my paradise. These photos have long been on my "want" list.
Always love your Aurora pics. I like #2. the composition is great and the image is almost a mirror image of sides split by the gap in the Aurora. very interesting shot. I like it.
I should add that center of #1 is facing due north and #2 is facing southwest. Both are almost 180 degree views though. The aurora all over the sky. A nice change from just a green band on the horizon.
Scott, your absolutely killin' it!
Both are great, number 1 for comp, 2 for color.
While I was thrilled when I 1st saw an aurora in green, the color-spectrum tops that
That had to have been so cool to see. #2 is my favorite here, not only because of the purples but I like how the color from the aurora is mostly contained to reflecting off the water in #2, that the non reflective ground layer has a more natural color to it. Where as with #1, while the green is radiating in the sky so cool, there is almost too much green on the ground layer. Instead of the rocks being brown like they are in #2, the rocks themselves are green also. Have you tried backing off on the green on the ground layer some? Maybe it would look weird, but that's where my mind is going...
Love these Scott, especially that first one as it's so out of the ordinary of most aurora shots. I'm still processing some from up on Mt. Baker, judging from the images here, it was a pretty spectacular night across the country.
Thank you all so much for the comments/feedback everyone!

Thank you Jim. It was an incredible time, though relatively short. I think I shot aurora for a couple of hours then was done.
The green colouring in #1 is something I wish for when shooting aurora but hardly get enough green light. In rare cases like this aurora show the whole sky was filled with aurora and so everything goes green. For me this is the ultimate aurora scenario to get the surreal green light cast across everything. So while I appreciate the critique, I can't change the colouring as it would take away what I captured.
Now iwith #2 the aurora was not all throughout the sky like #1. It was taken just before I decided to pack up and leave for home. The aurora had considerably died down by this point except for this short display with purples. With less green in the sky the natural colours of the rocks show more.
I am hoping this weekend we get some more aurora. I am going to head out to another set of falls with no light pollution. C'mon Mother Nature, be kind to me again!
