I usually dislike photographing anything past 8am and before 6:30pm but lately i've been going against that and trying not to limit myself to be confined to only those hours. These were shot around 11am so finding open shade was crucial and staying away from objects that could contribute strong color casts due tot he strong sun.
Really liked working with this family. they were so polite and easy to work with and the 2 year old little girl was full of energy. All i had to do was give her some flowers and she was totally into the shoot. I really loved her expressions and personality!
These are all really nice and well done. I think the BW ones have a little too much black. On #5 I wish you had a clear shot of the dad in the background, would have made it really great. Instead he's mostly hidden and more of a distraction. I really like #4, the genuine expression on him is great.
These are lovely and now you have no reason not to shoot at all times of the day! I do agree that the black and white pics have too much black. But that's easily fixed.
These are great shots and I agree with everything everyone says. I am on the fence with the comments on B/W. But also my eyes went straight for the subject in the photo. Which is what you want, yes??

I'm going against the trend to say that I like the low key feel of the B&Ws. I would totally hang them on my wall as they are if this was my daughter.
appreciate the kind words!
