You've missed one...outfit coordination. Look at pic #7. Look at the girls eyes. Her headdress and outfit don't match by accident I'm willing to bet.

Does anyone have some good suggestions for reading up on how to get light with dimension when you're shooting backlit like this? There is nothing to bounce the light back on the girl, yet there is so much interest/dimension in the light.

Thank you!! Clayton, there is a LOT of wide open sky behind me/in front of her. That always helps. So does a bit of post production. I wrote a tutorial for 500px on my back lighting techniques that you can check out HERE if you'd like.
