Hey, these are great shots! It is hard to choose, but the tones of the second cropped shot does it for me; although the clouds on the upper left do become a little less detailed. Stunning none the less!
Thanks again for all the comments! I'll admit that I favor the tighter crop for the water action and the IMO more balanced lines of composition.

David, wow these are mesmerizing beautiful and evocative!
I like the compositions as they are. Great selection of shutter speeds, would love to know more about your EXIF data.
mabidally - sorry no exif - PS was stripping it off on the save to web. Both were taken with the Sony A7r and the Sony Zeiss 24-70 F/4 FE lens. The wide shot was 24mm, f/7.1 (the sharpest setting for this lens/body combo) ISO50 and 2.5 sec. The tighter crop was at 33mm, f/7.1, ISO200 and .3 sec.
Thanks for that data Dave, as I look at these images I do like No 2 more. The waters create a "turbulent" leading line which lends mood and draws the eye up towards the jagged peaks and wild landscape. The colours and tones of blue are beautiful too.

I know what you mean about that wind! Love em both!
I think the 2nd one captures the "stormy" feeling better than the first. It shows off the rushing water and the darkness in the valley.
I agree with others that the second is my favorite. I like the cropped version and the tones better. The first shot has a bit too much of a blue color cast to it.
I like the wider view. Great shot! By the way, Your description of the wind conditions remind me of my visit many years ago to Punta Arenas, Chile and the surrounding area.
